Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how you use it. Some cookies are essential for the site to function; others help us improve the experience.
2. Cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Authentication (Supabase session tokens), cookie consent preference, CSRF protection. | Yes |
| Functional | Stripe checkout session data (set during the payment flow only). | Yes |
| Analytics | Aggregate visitor counts via Vercel Analytics. No cookies are set; visitors are identified by a daily rotating hash of IP + user-agent that cannot be tied to you personally. | Yes |
We do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies. Our only analytics tool is cookieless and aggregate.
3. Your choices
Since we only use essential and functional cookies required for the site to work, there are no optional cookies to accept or decline. You can still clear cookies through your browser settings. Note that clearing essential cookies will sign you out.
4. Manage your preferences
Use the button below to re-open the cookie consent banner and review your choice at any time.
5. Third-party cookies
Stripe may set cookies during the checkout flow to prevent fraud and process payments. These are governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy. Vercel Analytics loads a small script from va.vercel-scripts.com to count visitors but sets no cookies. No other third-party cookies are used on our site.
6. Desktop application
The ContextSnip desktop app does not use cookies. It stores a session token locally for authentication and makes network requests only to Supabase (auth), GitHub (update checks), and optionally HuggingFace (Whisper model download).
7. Updates
We may update this policy as we add or remove services. Check this page for the latest version.
